It’s not hard work that I disdain, but toiling without the joy of reward. An altruistic effort whose sole beneficiaries’ is someone other than me still affords me the joy of being lovingly self-directed for others. Not all benefits must be monetary or material. Pure spiritual benefits are the best in my regard despite being somewhat more ambiguous than those that rust, rot and collect dust.

Two important cards from one of my favorite decks — The Deviant Moon Tarot. I wondered how well I would work with something that at first glance looks dark and is quite surreal; these are a far cry from the URW deck that I’ve spent the most time with. Surprisingly, I feel beyond comfortable with these cards. I don’t perceive them as “dark” at all (not that I have a problem with dark decks - I love the Bohemian Gothic!) and they just seem to “fit.” They definitely bring something new to the experience. Considering I probably won’t be celebrating an esbat and I just returned home with the moon guiding my way in all of her glory, I thought it would be nice to recommend Patrick Valenza’s amazing moon deck. Enjoy the full moon, everyone!
